Shikishi boards are a special type of multi-layered art paper from Japan. A stiff paperboard core forms the sturdy center of each shikishi board. Smooth washi paper forms the backing layer; the edges are covered in foil tape; and the front is made from a variety of different washi papers for drawing, writing, and painting.
These special shikishi boards are made with washi paper, then finished with a foil-stamped decorative vignette (the white paper circle is under the patterned frame, not just pasted on top, so it can't peel away.)
Two boards per package, one with red and gold vignette and one with green and gold. Each board measures 10.7" x 9.5". Made in Japan.
