Our Panoramic Painting Pad is a unique, extra-long notebook for painting. The paper inside is made from 25% cotton and milled to a 130 lb. weight: tough enough for watercolors, gouache, and even acrylics.
Painting Pads have textured, natural white paper, creating an organic effect that's perfect for landscape painting. You'll notice that the texture on this paper looks more random and less regular than the typical patterns on cold-press watercolor paper. It's also softer and more absorbent, creating different effects than watercolor paper (check out our example photos to see it with Tonic Watercolor.)
We've added extra structure to these books, so they're strong enough for the studio or the field. The outer cover wraps around the entire book; inside, there are two stiff chipboard covers at front and back. The 30 sheets of heavyweight paper inside also add a nice heft to this well-balanced object.
