This cream-colored, heavyweight (93 lb.) paper is made with a cotton-cellulose blend that's perfectly balanced for drawing with wet and dry media. This paper is ideal for drawing with fountain pen, sketching with water-soluble pencils, or illustrating with pen and ink; it's also great for dry drawing techniques with colored pencils and graphite.
Light watercolor washes are even possible with this super-strong drawing paper, as you can see in our photos. However, we don't recommend making complete watercolor paintings on this paper as heavy washes will cause the paper to curl and buckle. You can use watercolor as an accent, especially when using more paint than water, but we wouldn't apply it to the entire page.
We've chosen a rich red for the 100 lb. paper cover. Our extra-heavy-duty metal coil is bound into the top or side, depending on the size (9" x 12" and 8" x 8" are top-bound, while 4" x 6" is side-bound.) A sheet of 60 pt. chipboard at the back offers a stable drawing surface.
