Shikishi boards are a special type of multi-layered art paper from Japan. A stiff paperboard core forms the sturdy center of each shikishi board. Smooth washi paper forms the backing layer; the edges are covered in foil tape; and the front is made from a variety of different washi papers for drawing, writing, and painting.
These special shikishi boards have a smooth texture and a unique shine, because the partially translucent washi paper on the surface has silver foil layered behind it. After this intricate construction, each board is airbrushed by hand with a cool-toned gradient pattern.
Two boards per package, one in blue/pink/white and one in purple/pink/blue. Each board measures 10.7" x 9.5". Each set is different because the colors are applied by hand. Made in Japan.
